This product was consciously made to reduce our footprint and supports our mission to be a little bit better every day. Mercado Global is a Brooklyn-based accessory brand and non-profit that empowers rural Latin American women to become entrepreneurs. All their textiles are handwoven in Guatemala using a process of weaving that dates back centuries and has been passed down by women from generation to generation. The skilled hands of the Mayans have been weaving for over 2,000 years using the same traditional methods. Weaving has remained symbolic to the artisans because of its Mayan heritage and the value it holds to the creator.
