Handblown Glass
- Condition: NEW
- How to wash glass. The glass may be thin and delicate or thick and hefty but it is always FRAGILE and should be handled gently.
- When unpacking or moving a piece, always have a SOFT, cushioned surface prepared to rest it on.
- LIFT and LOWER the glass onto the surface. to CLEAN your glass, it is best to do so with a DRY DUSTER or a small canister of COMPRESSED AIR. GLASS CLEANER can also be used along with a scratch free cloth or crumpled newspaper.
- For hard water stains, we recommend ammonia and a soft bristled brush or sponge. for lighting pieces, 60 WATT BULBS or less are recommended to avoid overheating.
- Unlike commercial/pyrex glass, hand blown glass is not tempered and is susceptible to thermal shock.
- Do not put HOT liquid into a COLD glass or COLD liquid into a HOT glass as extreme temperature differences may crack the glass.
- Never SLIDE or SPIN as this could scratch the glass or potentially the surface on which it sits. do not make its home the top of a speaker as VIBRATIONS can cause the glass to become molecularly unstable over time.
- Thick, solid glass can act as a lens and FOCUS SUNLIGHT much like a magnifying glass; this could be a fire hazard.
- broken glass is SHARP, please handle it carefully and do not cut yourself. do not put hand blown pieces of glass in the dishwasher, HAND WASH and allow to dry upside down to avoid watermarks.
